Y'S OWL MACLURE CO-OP CENTRE

Y’s Owl Maclure has over 34 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Before 1999 Y’s Owl Co-op and the K.C. Maclure Habilitation Centre operated as two separate agencies. In response to the Ministry of Community and Social Services ‘Making Services Work for People’ initiative, Y’s Owl Co-op and the K.C. Maclure Habilitation Centre merged together and became Y’s Owl Maclure Co-operative Centre Inc.

At present Y’s Owl Maclure supports approximately 300 people and offers a wide range of services from centre-based programs to community engagement. We provide a safe and non-threatening environment promoting a person’s right to become a fully participating member of their community.

AUTISM SERVICES OTTAWA

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. There is often nothing about how people with ASD look that sets them apart from other people, but people with ASD may communicate, interact, behave, and learn in ways that are different from most other people.

Autism Services Ottawa is a fee for service program that can help if you have an autism spectrum disorder, are aged 14 years of age and up, and are interested in going to college or university, gaining work experience or are looking for employment.

This program consists of two streams: “Building Skills for Life” (Stream A) and “First steps to employment” (Stream B). Depending on the support you may need to work towards competitive employment, you may start in our “Building Skills for Life” stream or go directly into our “First steps to employment” stream.
